About our club

Every 2 weeks, children aged 9+ get together at Avenue Library in Blackley to make awesome things with code.

Games, puzzles, websites — you name it

We have a lot of fun working and learning together. Each lesson is led by volunteers who guide children through Code Club projects or custom projects devised by our club leader.

We regularly join in with the Code Club network competitions — really challenging and fun. At the end of each session we show and play each other's work to see how others have built their projects.

I've been running Avenue Library Code Club since September 2017. Over the years I've seen children building confidence, learning new things and developing skills that will carry them far into their future.

"Coding is a canvas for creativity — experiment fearlessly and bring your ideas to life."

Technologies we use

🐍

Python

Text-based coding for learners ready to level up beyond blocks.

For advanced learners we teach GitHub — how to save code and how repositories work.
